Fee: $110
Location: Viniterra Golf ClubĀ
Format: Progressive Net Team Scoring
The Vibe: Early-round confidence followed by back-nine atmospheric pressure.
We chose Viniterra because itās a "Big Boy" golf course. Itās long, the bunkers are hungry, and the greens require a degree in geometry to read. The 4-3-2 Shuffle is designed to exploit every single weakness in your foursome. It starts out like a friendly stroll and ends like a frantic rescue mission.
The "Shuffle" refers to how many scores we count on each hole. This is a NET SCORE game. If you have a stroke on a hole, a gross 5 is a net 4. That net 4 is what the Spreadsheet God sees.
š¢ Holes 1ā6: The "Training Wheels" Phase (Count 2)
On the first six holes, we only take the TWO BEST NET SCORES from your foursome.
The Vibe: Relaxed. Two of you can literally be hunting for Pro-V1s in the woods while the other two carry the team. This is where you tell jokes and pretend youāre good at golf.
š” Holes 7ā12: The "Tightening Vice" (Count 3)
On the middle six, the spreadsheet gets hungry. We now take the THREE BEST NET SCORES.
The Vibe: Tense. Now, 75% of your group has to actually perform. If three of you have a "moment" at the same time, your team score is going to look like a phone number.
š“ Holes 13ā18: The "Death Zone" (Count 4)
This is the Shuffle's final form. On the last six holes, EVERY SINGLE NET SCORE COUNTS. * The Vibe: Pure survival. There is nowhere to hide. If you card a net 9 on the 17th, your team takes a net 9. This is where friendships are tested and "The Silent Guys" usually stop talking entirely.
Because we are playing at Viniterraāa course that doesn't care about your feelingsāyou must remember: NET SCORES ARE KING.
Don't Do the Math: If you are one of our "Math-Challenged" brothers, please stop trying to add up the team total while standing on the green. It causes brain fog and slow play.
Just Write the Number: Record your Gross Score clearly. The Spreadsheet will automatically apply your handicap and "Shuffle" the results into the correct buckets.
The "Stay in the Fight" Rule: In the 4-3-2 Shuffle, you can never "pick up." Even if youāre lying 6 in a fairway bunker on Hole 15, you have to finish. That Net 8 might still be better than a Net 10, and your team needs every stroke.
Manage your energy. Donāt burn all your "Good Hole Karma" on the first six when we only need two scores. Save that miraculous par-save for the back nine when the Spreadsheet is watching all four of you like a hawk.
Viniterra doesn't forgive, and neither does the 4-3-2 Shuffle. Good luck.
